Wow, what a downer ending. I really hate this 'E Plebnista!' crap, although in that particular episode, though cheesy, it was much better executed than this. And at least when ST:TOS aired, America was not the cesspool it is today. Nearly 60 years of degeneracy later and there's no excuse for this kind of romanticism. I don't know how anyone can look the modernist, totalitarian, God-hating, humanity-destroying hellscape and think that we have anything to teach anyone.
