All right lads and lasses, we made it. It’s Friday again, callooh callay. What about me? Thanks for asking, I’ve been trying to sleep more, not sure if it’s helping all that much, but I’m starting to rise a little earlier instead of rolling out of bed and logging in for my day job like a looser. Yes, I know I should eat better and do some cardio, I should also not live off of coffee, energy drinks, whiskey, and cigarettes, nor stare into the abyss. But we are who we are.
Anywho, I kept to my commitment of one post a day, that’s good. I’m net +3 subscribers for the week, w00t. Thank you one and all, new and old alike, those who have just joined and those who have stuck with me, I really, truthfully appreciate each and every one of you <hieroglyph>bow</hieroglyph> .
Looking at the stats my most viewed efforts were firstly the second part of my Esoteric History series, followed by the ‘no hate watching’ polemic, and then for the bronze, the look at defying genre conventions by way of CL Moore’s Northwest Smith stories. Looks like my filktion posts barely move the needle. Alright, I get that, it’s niche, back into the shit can that goes.
Looks like I need a new spot for Thursdays, let me chew on that some, I’ll get back to yall.
Progress on my projects? Yeah, not so much, work has been hot and heavy this week, and I’ve been hitting the rack early instead of burning the midnight oil. Guess it’s true that art demands suffering. Melancholic? Who me?
Ok, JD, we get it, you’re a mope, get on with it. Okie dokie, what’s new in our little thing?
Misha Burnett’s Atlas of Bad Roads is in fulfillment, and is slated to be available on Amazon from the 1st of October if you missed the Kickstarter, or were broke (like me).
Russia has opened their classical, Realist Art Academy to those of us stuck here in the Moloch worshipping Atlantean Empire.
The Joy of Wargaming has begun a web series of 1 for 1 time (1 game turn = 1 day of campaign time = 1 day real time) chronicling the clash of the forces of Law and Chaos over Elric’s sword Stormbringer, lest it plunge into the sun and transform the ongoing Trollopulous AD&D campaign into Gamma World. Follow the Fate of Stormbringer here. #BrOSR
Bradford Walker has a series of posts up chronicling how Palladium’s Rifts is broken in terms of rules actually required for Braunstein style campaign play as envisioned by Gygax and Arneson, the conclusion is of course, use AD&D to fill in the missing parts.
Putin calls up his ready reserves, and in his speech, makes clear that the SMO is over and the war between Atlantis and Eurasia has begun. And here I thought we all lucked out and wouldn’t have to live through #Twilight2000.
If we manage to let the sun go round seven more times without burning up the map like the Comedian making a point to Ozymandias, I guess I’ll see you lot next Friday!
